CFW Weekly Update for November 19th, 2017


I’d like to take a moment to introduce you to our new General Manager. Her name is Louise and I have known her for my entire life – that’s almost 40 years!  She is a mom of two and an amazing business woman and she will be taking on many of the day-to-day operations at the gym. Please don’t be shy to introduce yourself, she will be at the gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week.

I’m also very excited to welcome Chris Gair to the CFW Coaching Apprenticeship program. Chris has complete his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Course and will be shadowing classes at CFW to learn the fine points of exercise physiology and coaching. Welcome!

Yoga is back on the schedule. For this month, classes will be included in your CrossFit membership, as we gauge the interest for a dedicated session in the new year. Times slots are Monday 5PM and Wednesday 11:15AM.


FrostFit registration is this week, on Tuesday we’ll have pre-registration for CFW Members only. If you are thinking of competing, check out the website or the Facebook page for information.  This year’s event promises to be our best one yet. We’ll be doing same sex pairs for Novice and Rx, as well as a new Individual Invitational Category.

This coming Saturday, November 25th, we’ll be hosting a Health & Wealth Seminar. This is a forum where we’ll be doing a Q&A with a panel of experts including myself and Coach Gary, who will answer questions on fitness, health and nutrition, Assistant Coach Chris Gair, who is our expert on weight loss, as well as Liz Jones, stress management expert, Dr. Chris Notley, spine and sport injury expert, and Dr. Kailey Murphy Goal Setting & Habit Change expert. I am organizing this complimentary event for our members and the public in conjunction with my brother Rob, so please make sure that you RSVP by Wednesday to Jean Moquin at 204-925-5170 or jean.moquin@nbc.ca.


We’ll be taking pre-orders for our next batch of CFW Swag, which includes zip-ups and sweat pants. If you want your own or for a gift, check out the design and sizing at the reception desk in the lobby.
